The Ultrastar Data60 is a key element of next‑generation disaggregated storage and software-defined storage (SDS) systems, delivering high density and the flexibility to balance performance with cost. The Ultrastar Data60 provides up to 840TB¹ of raw storage in a compact and efficient form factor. Western Digital HelioSeal® drives ensure cool running, quiet operation and high reliability. A high-performance data tier can be set up for demanding applications by using SSDs in up to 24 of the drive slots, enabling the ability to serve both fast data and big data from a single platform.
WD SAN and NAS Drives
Two different approaches for data storage
WD Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Networks (SAN) are developed for shared data storage.
Compassion between SAN and NAS
WD SAN requires a combination of servers and storage over a high speed, low latency using Fibre Channel, available in 16 Gb/s to 32 Gb/s. An Ethernet network such as 10Gb or 40Gb+ using protocols such as FCoE and iSCSI.interconnects SAN. It is an expansive shared data storage solution for big enterprises providing extremely fast data access.

Sandisk SSD and SSD Plus are SATA III 2.5″ enabled drives built using the 3D NAND technology. The drives are available with GB and TB storage capacity. SanDisk SSD Dashboard app helps to maintain the drive’s performance by offering tools for analyzing the drive and listing S.M.A.R.T. attributes.
